Enrolments

Joining a new early learning community is an important step for any whānau. At Portobelo, our team aims to make the enrolment experience straightforward and welcoming, supporting you as your child begins their time with us.

Visit a Centre

Spend time in the centre, meet our kaiako, and see the spaces where tamariki play, learn and build relationships each day at Portobelo.

Share Your Enrolment Details

When you visit the centre, our team will give you an enrolment form and talk with you about availability and possible start dates. This is also a good time to ask any questions about the process. Once the form has been completed and returned to us, we will confirm your child’s place.

Settling In

For settling, we encourage 3-6 visits prior to their first day usually over 1-2 weeks. The first few visits will be one hour long, with you staying with your child as they explore their new surroundings as well as taking the opportunity to discuss your child's routines, development and personality.
From the third visit onwards, we recommend these to be about three hours long, and we encourage you to leave your child with us for that time.

Your Adventure Begins

Once your child starts fully with us, they will join a space where caring kaiako support their confidence, friendships and growing independence. Together, we nurture a sense of belonging and celebrate the everyday moments of learning and discovery.
